ASSEMBLY AUTOMATION
Vols. 19-30. Bradford, 1999-2010. Partly reprint.
Complete set $ 2,950.-
Per volume $ 275.-

- ASSEMBLY AUTOMATION can be viewed as a companion title to its sister publication, Industrial Robot. The emphasis is, of course, on assembly production processes, and those processes discussed are usually highly mechanized (such as the automotive industry) or highly miniaturized (the mechatronics and laboratory-scale aspects of robotics). Its format is exactly like that of Industrial Robot, and it suffers from the same faults. Its good features are the short articles written by people in the field, but they lack references to other work and any indication of their currency. One of its pluses is the quality (and copious use) of photography: Numerous, crisp black-and-white illustrations accompany most articles (Katz).
