- ARTES AFRICANAE was a publication of the "Commission pour la Protection des arts et Métiers Indigènes" of what used to be the Belgian Congo and is now the Republic of Zaire. The individual issues are presented altenatively in French and Flemish. The journal contains articles on Congolese arts and crafts and oral traditional literature, such as poems, tales and proverbs, in both the vernacular and in translation. The articles are illustrated with numerous line drawings and photographs.

- This extremely scarce and valuable mimeographed journal, ASSOCIATION FOR AFRICAN LITERATURE IN ENGLISH. BULLETIN, edited by Eldred Jones, was the forerunner of African Literature Today, also edited by Jones. Its value lies in the fact that it contained news of cultural activities at English-speaking African universities with dates and names of the participants. These reports cannot be found elsewhere. The ASSOCIATION FOR AFRICAN LITERATURE IN ENGLISH, BULLETIN also contained reviews and critiques of African literature that make it a useful addition to any collection of African literary journals.
