- ARTES AFRICANAE was a publication of the "Commission pour la Protection des arts et Métiers Indigènes" of what used to be the Belgian Congo and is now the Republic of Zaire. The individual issues are presented altenatively in French and Flemish. The journal contains articles on Congolese arts and crafts and oral traditional literature, such as poems, tales and proverbs, in both the vernacular and in translation. The articles are illustrated with numerous line drawings and photographs. |
