- MODERN DRAMA looks at contemporary drama from an academic point of view. The articles are scholarly and substantive, but they do not lack in liveliness and interest. Recent topics have included J. M. Synge, Tennesee Williams, Holocaust plays, and Empire drama in India. Although far from the bleeding edge of modern performance theory, the eight to ten articles often contain analyses of very current materials. There are also extensive and interesting book reviews in each issue, as well as an annual bibliography in the Summer issue (Katz).

Unlike in the United States, where faculty members prefer to publish anywhere but in their own review, most articles in this publication are by faculty members from the law school (Katz).
