- The first volume examines the extent to which art in the Sudeten region possesses German characteristics. In the second, Studien zu Peter Parler, Karl Swoboda writes on classical traits in Parler's work. In volumes 3 and 4, Erich Bachmann provides a general outline of architecture in the late Hohenstaufen period. Die Kirchenbauten des Christoph Dientzenhofer, the fifth volume, studies the major works of this German baroque architect. Volume 6 deals with churches designed by Kilian Ignaz Dientzenhofer (Christoph's son), and baroque castles and palaces in Bohemia and Moravia. Anonymous thirteenth century Gothic sculptures from the Sudeten and Carpathian regions are studies in the final volume. Each of the seven volumes contains a wealth of illustrations.
