The four to six articles in each issue present readers-managers and students of product innovation-with the theoretical bases and practical approaches that "will enable them to operate at the cutting edge of effective management practice." Within the field of product innovation, the scope of the journal is broad, addressing both internal and external organizational factors. The empirical research of academics is published, as are the experiences and viewpoints of manager, consultants, and contributors from other professions (Katz).
