- JOURNAL OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE EDUCATION is a scholarly journal that seeks to provide a forum for the examination, discussion, and debate of issues concerning postsecondary education in criminal justice, criminology, and related areas. Its overall goal is to enhance the quality of higher education in these fields by encouraging new empirical research and debate. The popularity and proliferation of criminal justice programs in American colleges and universities in recent years, along with the concerns about the quality and the unfortunate perception by some individuals that many of these programs exhibit a vocational orientation, make this an important journal (Katz).
