- According to the editors of this new journal, LEXICOLOGY deals with the "theory and practice of structures of vocabulary." Lexicography is the codification of a vocabulary of natural language. This journal intends to focus on the former, emphasizing research on the "nature and structure of words and vocabularies," including theoretical issues and lexical data. Suggested topics for papers include lexicon, grammar, computational linguistics, historical and methodological studies, and works dealing with less documented or endangered languages. The journal publishes in English, German, and French and intends to regularly include illustrations from the human race's early graphical communications (Katz).
