- Formerly published as POLICE STUDIES: INTERNATIONAL REVIEW OF POLICE DEVELOPMENT
- In 1997, POLICING was formed by the merger of American Journal of Police, which focused on policing in the United States, and Police Studies, which emphasized comparative and international law enforcement. Like its forerunners, POLICING is an interdisciplinary scholarly journal covering theory and research related to policing. It provides a global look at the latest developments on matters of police policy, practice, management, operations, education, training, and science and technology. Its scholarly examination of law enforcement issues is useful to senior law enforcement officers, policymakers, and especially to academics (Katz).
