- The REVIEW OF ENGLISH STUDIES is devoted to research in the area of literary history of English literature from the earliest period to the present. Issues contain three or four scholarly articles 10 to 15 pages in length, a notes section, and sometimes a correspondence section. The journal also publishes newly discovered primary materials, such as letters. A list of tables of contents of other journals in the field and a list of publications received is included in each issue. An extensive book-review section takes up about half of each issue (Katz).
