- STUDIA LINGUISTICA is in the midst of a significant change in editorial direction. Whereas previously it provided a forum where Scandinavian linguists could publish papers for an international audience, now it is be a journal for the discussion of theoretical linguistic research in all languages and countries. It particularly wishes to focus on three fields of grammar (including phonology), cognitive semantics, and language typology, in an effort to draw together linguists from these fields and to end their perceived animosity. The lengthy, scholarly articles are preceded by abstracts and are published in English and French. They include such topics as syntax, morphology, and dialectology as they apply to a variety of languages, such as Bulgarian, English, Swedish, French, and even machine languages (Katz).
