- This journal offers an interdisciplinary approach to the application of probability theory, with articles presenting methodologies ranging from the analytic and algorithmic to the experimental. Articles describe the practical applications of stochastic models to phenomena in the natural sciences, technology, and operations research. Each issue contains eight to ten articles of 10 to 30 pages. One of three Communications in Statistics journals, STOCHASTIC MODELS is also an affiliated publication of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (Katz).
