- Critical and interpretive essays on American fiction of all periods are published in STUDIES IN AMERICAN FICTION. Issues feature five to seven articles about 20 pages in length. The articles are generally quite readable and contribute to the understanding of particular works of fiction. Occasionally, an issue will be devoted to a special topic (Katz).
