- VETERINARY SURGERY is the official publication of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and the European College of Veterinary Surgeons. It is a journal of continuing education within the broad field of veterinary surgery and anesthesia. It also incorporates Veterinary Anesthesia, which is the official journal of the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists. Consequently, the table of contents for each, while on the same page, are separate. The illustrations are high-quality black-and-white photographs. In addition to carrying clinical and research papers, it also publishes abstracts of current literature and scientific abstracts from the annual meetings. The periodical covers both large and small animals (Katz).
