- Many editions of Saint Jean Chrysostome's complete works were published
over the centuries. J. BAREILLE's translation is based on Bernard de
Montfaucon's 13-volume edition dated 1718, for which several benedictine
monks had worked for 13 years. Bareille just omitted the "Spuria", works
falsely attributed to Chrysostome, which he considered not worth to be
published. However, the works where only doubts exist are included. Vol. 21
contains a comprehensive index.
