- After Reichard's Theater-Journal had ceased publication, Bertram tried to fill the vacancy with the ANNALEN DES THEATERS. One year later, he also printed the essence of this journal in the Theaterzeitung für Deutschland. Soon he realized however, that public interest in a pure theater news magazine was very limited. Yet, the Annalen was able to survive until 1797.
