- The main objective of this music journal is to bridge the gap between research and practice. This was achieved by examining musical performances in the light of the relationships between music and audience, and music and society. The music of all periods is discussed, from the Middle Ages to the present, encompassing virtually all countries. Contents include a series of essays on folk songs and patriotic songs, a report on five recently discovered letters of Richard Wagner, and a compendium of the musical works of Janacek.
