- From 1913 to 1919, the journal was published under the title INTERNATIONALE ZEITSCHRIFT FUER AERZTLICHE PSYCHOANALYE. From 1920 through 1937, its title was INTERNATIONALE ZEITSCHRIFT FUER PSYCHOANALYSE. In 1939 it combined with Freud's IMAGO to form INTERNATIONALE ZEITSCHRIFT FUER PSYCHOANALYSE UND IMAGO. The ZEITSCHRIFT was devoted to clinical and theoretical papers, while IMAGO restricted itself to applied psychoanalysis.
