SCHLESWIGSCHES JOURNAL

- Continuation of BRAUNSCHWEIGISCHES JOURNAL which is also available
from us. See entry in this catalogue.

- BRAUNSCHWEIGISCHES JOURNAL, under pressure of Prussian censorship, had to move to Altona in Denmark, where editor August von Hennings continued it as SCHLESWIGSCHES JOURNAL. The journal mounted sharp attacks against the reactionary press, especially the circle of the WIENER ZEITSCHRIFT. Among the contributors to both journals were Johann Leonhard Bässler, Carl August Böttiger, Joachim Heinrich Campe and Christian Garve.
