- Despite initial difficulties in forming a proper assembly, the Council of Basel refused to be dissolved when the Pope attempted to disband it. However, a fortnight after ecclesiastical censure was removed, the Pope revoked his decree of dissolution. Thereafter the council failed over the growing rift with the Vatican. Published in Latin, the eight volumes contain footnotes and an extensive subject index to each volume in German.
