- The GAZETTE DU PALAIS began publication in 1881 and is the most important and useful index for legal research. It contains, in its first part, short digests of decisions, references to doctrinal articles, and legislation published in all the important periodicals (LA SEMAINE JURIDIQUE, REVUE TRIMESTRIELLE DE DROIT CIVIL, etc.). The second part of the index, called Législation, contains chronological listings of legislative texts published in the GAZETTE DU PALAIS. The third and fourth parts contain indexes to the doctrinal articles and case notes published in the GAZETTE DU PALAIS and the RECUEIL DALLOZ-SIREY, respectively. The case reports also have notes, usually shorter than those in DALLOZ or SIREY. - This famous series of reports has gone through various changes of form and title. The begining of the collection goes back to the time when the founders of the SIREY series separated in 1808. Denevers continued with JOURNAL DES AUDIENCES DE LA COUR DE CASSATION ET DES COURS D'APPEL which from 1822 was edited by Dalloz. In 1826 it changed its name to JURISPRUDENCE GENERALE DU ROYAUME and later to JURISPRUDENCE GENERALE. The present series began in 1845. In 1924, this series was split into two: the monthly publication DALLOZ PERIODIQUE and a weekly DALLOZ HEBDOMADAIRE. In 1941 the weekly edition changed its title to DALLOZ (RECUEIL) ANALYTIQUE, the monthly edition to DALLOZ (RECUEIL) CRITIQUE. In 1945, the two publications were merged into the RECUEIL DALLOZ. On February 17, 1955, RECUEIL SIREY merged with RECUEIL DALLOZ and it appeared as RECUEIL DALLOZ ET SIREY to the end of 1955; from 1956 until 1965 it again appeared as RECUEIL DALLOZ.
