Preservation reprints
The preservation of ageing, damaged or brittle originals can be a real problem for librarians, who need to continue to offer access to a rare work while taking steps to protect it.
The solution we offer is simple: set aside the original and replace it with a reprint for general public use.
Some of the advantages of using our high quality reprints as a replacement copy:
- Unlike other preservation services, we do not need your valuable original as a master copy for reprinting. All reprints are available ex-stock or reprinted swiftly from our own master copies.
- A reprint on acid-free paper is a well-established, reliable and long-lasting solution.
- Text and typography are identical to the original.
- Your valuable original can be kept for restoration, preservation and limited specialist consultation.
