- The German philosopher Edmund Husserl (1859-1938) is the central figure in the phenomenological movement. HUSSERL STUDIES serves as a forum for historical, systematic, interpretive, and comparative studies on Husserl and phenomenology in general. Although the editor encourages intercultural and interdisciplinary submissions, most authors concentrate on narrowly defined problems of exegesis or analysis drawn from Husserl's writings (Katz).
