- Taking a largely theoretical approach to robotics, JOURNAL OF INTELLIGENT AND ROBOTIC SYSTEMS publishes five or six lengthy papers per issue. Most involve modeling of either robot components or the tasks that they perform. Some are mathematical discussions of techniques or systems that may be adapted to or incorporated in specific types of robots or in the overall systems governing them. Recent work features "neuro-fuzzy" control, combining artificial intelligence with robotic control. Authorship is international, with most researchers from academia, but there is a fair percentage of industrial collaboration (Katz).
