- This journal is multidisciplinary in nature. It publishes papers that are concerned with all aspects (biological, chemical, physical, geological, etc.) of the reconstructions and interpretations of lake histories, including paleoenvironmental studies of rivers and woodlands and research contributions from biological, chemical and geological perspectives. Both applied and theoretical papers are encouraged. In addition, the JOURNAL OF PALEOLIMNOLOGY is a major repository for papers dealing with climatic change as well as other pressing topics, such as global environmental change, lake acidification, long-term monitoring and other aspects of lake ontogeny. Taxonomic and methodological papers are also acceptable, provided they are of relatively broad interest (Katz).
