- AMERICAN GERIATRICS SOCIETY. JOURNAL's focus is the medical side of aging, and it is aimed at practicing medical professionals and clinical researchers. Each issue is divided into sections. The "Clinical Investigation' and "Brief Reports" sections present reports of research on medical therapies, interventions and diseases patterns in the elderly. A recent issue included the effect of vitamin B12 and weight change in Alzheimer's patients. Sometimes articles dwell on non-medical concerns such as beliefs concerning dying and discussions about end-of-life care. As the official journal of the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), this title also publishes AGS Position Statements as they are developed (Katz).
