- The venerable and highly regarded JOURNAL OF HELLENIC STUDIES (JHS) publishes studies in Greek literature, history, archaeology, and philosophy. Contributors traditionally have been predominantly British, although more American and European scholars now appear among them. A typical issue includes 12 to 15 articles, many of substantial length. The extensive book review section is a particularly valuable feature, it covers most important books on classical Greek studies in English and Western European languages. Frequently, there are one or two review articles that discuss several books on related themes (Katz).
