- One of the earliest professional journals on robotics, ROBOTICA has remained focused on its mission over the years. It is hard to find an article in any issue that does not have "robot" somewhere in the title (although nowadays it may be part of a word, such as "microrobots"). Although papers are research-level quality, there is always attention to working mechanisms, rather than just theoretical modeling. Not an inconsequential number of authors work in industry as opposed to academia, and many articles are coauthored by academic and industrial researchers. Following the usual academic formula, papers are well illustrated and heavily referenced. Many issues are thematic, in whole or in part, expanding on such topics as languages and robot software or microactuators (Katz).
