- As the official journal of the American Psychological Association's Division of Rehabilitation Psychology, REHABILITATION PSYCHOLOGY aims to forward "both the understanding of important psychological problems in rehabilitation and the capacity to offer effective assistance in ameliorating those problems." As given in the journal's description, "Rehabilitation psychologists consider the entire network of biological, psychological, social, environmental, and political factors that affect the functioning of persons with disabilities or chronic illness." Theoretical or empirical scholarly research is appropriate, and accepted items have included experiments correlational, evaluation, or ecological studies historical papers reports of demonstration projects or qualitative research discussion of policy issues and reviews (Katz).
