- About five or six articles running 6 to 20 pages each, together with editorial, book reviews, and a correspondence section, make up this quarterly of close to 100 pages of lively yet academic reading. Additional features of SYSTEMS RESEARCH AND BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE include a guest consultant on philosophy of systems, an autobiographical series authored by a leading systematist, and a reporting section for software programmers to describe their new products. Correspondence papers generally run from two to four pages, and from time to time provide dialogue opportunities between authors and their critics. This journal is solid with core systems articles. Mathematical language is normally used, but little is used in favor of the purely verbal medium, a fact that should bode well for a widening special-interest lay audience (Katz).
