- The "Institut de Droit International", founded in 1873, is an independent scientific association patronised by eminent specialists in public and private international law. Its aim is to foster the development of international law, principally by producing relevant studies and by arriving at conclusions or resolutions on fundamental and present-day questions in this area. The "Annuaire" itself publishes the reports drawn up on questions mooted in the order of the day as well as the results of these discussions and the text of the conclusions and resolutinos arrived at.
