- BLUM has reached the status of an almost mythic figure in the history of the Revolution of 1848, during which he was executed. Throughout his life he was closely associated with the German theater, first in Cologne and later in Leizig. He also made important contributions to political journalism, including the yearbook VORWÄRTS, which he edited from 1843-1847.
